As you all may know, the earthquake that hit 2 days ago the city of Pisco, in Peru, has left about 500 persons dead, over 1,500 injured and thousands without a home. Pisco is a small fishermen town about 3 1/2 hours from Lima, the capital city. These hard working people have been left homeless and shocked with grief, having to identify their children among the bodies piling up at the Main Plaza. In the middle of winter they are sleeping in the streets, without electricity, food supplies, or even water.

Help is being mobilized but they still need YOU. Today, the amount of money that you would spend in a latte or cigarettes can help them, make them feel like they do matter in a world that seems intent in making their lives as hard as possible.

Below is a link that lists bona fide charities. You can check their certificate and stats to verify their authenticity, and learn how they distribute the donations received. $5 or $10 may not buy much these days, but it will be invaluable to the ones who are begging for your support.
